The collection

One story, many identities

Few novels offer so striking a record of changing publishing practices. Across countries, decades and languages, Agatha Christie's mystery has appeared with different titles, translations, illustrations and cover designs.

This privately assembled collection brings together paperbacks, hardbacks and less familiar international publications, including early British editions and examples from continental Europe and beyond.

The photographs on this page show actual books from the collection. Cataloguing is in progress, and the selection illustrated here represents only part of the holdings.

Acquisition enquiries

The collection is for sale

This privately assembled international collection of Agatha Christie editions, including numerous publications of Ten Little Niggers (now known as And Then There Were None), is being offered for sale, preferably as a single collection.

The collection includes editions from numerous countries, with a fascinating variety of languages, cover designs, publishers and formats, spanning several decades of publishing history.

A detailed catalogue is currently being prepared, but please don't wait for its completion before getting in touch.

Enquiries are welcome from collectors, booksellers, institutions and anyone with a serious interest in acquiring the collection.

A separate opportunity

The website is also available

The website itself is also available for acquisition, either independently or together with the collection.

There is considerable scope to develop it into a comprehensive bibliographical and academic resource documenting the extraordinary international publishing history of Agatha Christie's bestselling mystery novel — its changing titles, translations, cover artwork and editions across different countries and generations.

Enquiries from individuals or institutions interested in developing such a project are welcome.
